ATL BBQ Sauce

Ingredients
- 32 oz ketchup
- 4 oz spicy brown mustard
- 2 oz apple cider vinegar
- 2 oz Karo syrup (dark corn syrup)
- 1 oz Worchestershire sauce
- 1 tbsp Texas Pete hot sauce
- 1 tbsp black pepper
- 1 tbsp red pepper flakes
- 1/2 tbsp dry yellow mustard (such as Coleman’s)
- 1/2 tbsp white pepper
- 2 oz yellow onion, chopped
- 1 tbsp unsalted butter
- 2 oz BBQ drippings or bacon fat
Optional:
- 1 tsp liquid smoke (in lieu of smoked meat drippings)
Directions
Sautee the onions with butter in a saucepan until they begin to brown.
Add the rest of the ingredients, heat until it begins bubbling, then reduce to simmer for 20 minutes.
