I’ve worked with and for aircraft-makers for 10 years, and I fly a lot.
Here are my personal safety guidelines:
- Avoid sitting next to the engine.
- Cross from the jet bridge to the aircraft quickly and don’t loiter near the transition.
- Stow your heavy stuff during taxi, takeoff, and landing. if something happens you do NOT want 10lb bags or 5lb laptops flying around. And you dont want anything keeping you from leaving the aircraft in less than 90 seconds.
